From Grays you can enjoy the many wonderful walks quite literally on the doorstep, and visit the beaches along the Jurassic Coast, the nearest of which is only 8 miles away. The Cottage has its own lush little garden area and orchard, with a paved area and furniture for sitting or eating out, and there is ample parking space behind double entrance doors which provide privacy.

There are many renowned places of historical and architectural interest and lovely gardens in the area. The Cottage is within walking distance of  Powerstock Common and Kingcombe Meadows, two of the most important nature reserves in the country and is a perfect, peaceful retreat and base for walkers, birdwatchers, for exploring Hardy country and West Dorset’s lovely villages, land and seascapes, and for those who simply want peace, rest and relaxation.

Grays is no longer a working farm, though the land around is home to sheep, cattle and a pheasantry. The surrounding countryside is a haven for wildlife, and typical of the landscape of West Dorset, which enfolds you with its secret valleys, rounded hills, old woods and intimate lanes.
